Who We Are

Kids

Eugene Field Elementary currently has in attendance 380 of the most dynaminc children on the planet. The kids are funny, loving, smart, honest, beautiful, bright, talented, intelligent and full of life and love.

They overcome violence, poverty, abuse, addiction and negligence on a daily basis. 97% of our children live at or below poverty and 3 out of 4 have a significant relative in prison.

Despite these obstacles they are resilient and more beautiful each and every day. They are world changers with a perspective and loving heart unlike many. We are so proud they are attend our school!

Families

The Eugene Field Community is made up of courageous and involved mothers and fathers, aunts and uncles, grandmothers and grandfathers.  There are many single moms carrying the entire family load and the EF Foundation is doing its best to lighten the burden.

Volunteers

A crucial aspect to the success of Eugene Field’s students and community, volunteers are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and get dirty. Whether providing a monthly dinner to 400 families, mentoring on a weekly basis, picking weeds in the community’s Global Garden, or donating their time to help a child struggling in the class room…volunteers help make the Eugene Filed world “go ’round”

We could not achieve our success without them.

Partners

From our 20 official partners in education to the individuals and  businesses that give in humble silence, our Partners are the driving force and resource center that help meet the many various needs that exist in the classrooms and homes of our wonderful students. Money, food, clothing, and numerous man hours all originate with our partner base.

Principal

Cindi Hemm has been in education for over 25 years. She is the heart and soul of Eugene Field Elementary and the catalyst for the great things that are happening there.

She took the reigns of Eugene Field in 2003 and has overseen an unbelievable growth in attendance and test scores while violence and vandalism have plummeted.

Her vision to love and educate is like no one else. She unites, she hugs, she disciplines, she loves: a one of kind leader and friend to all in the community.

Director

Jeremy Martin has been working at Eugene Field Elementary for 3 years and has served as the Director of the Eugene Field Foundation the past year. His heart for the poor and the children  he works with is evident in the bombardment of hugs, smiles, high fives and laughs he receives and gives on a daily basis.

He is responsible for coordinating many of the behind the scenes efforts that benefit the Eugene Field Community and is a valuable part of the EF team.
